I hail the fact that billions of dollars go out every year to the education sector in the USA. Some of them are in the form of student loans, while others come in the form of aids, awards and financing. As a student, I particularly make use of both the student loans and scholarship programs.
However, there are some students that I know of who specifically rely on either the Federal seog grant or the student loans to further their education. But are there any other viable options other than the federal financial aid for college?
I realize that many students are looking for other sources of financing their education in every creative way possible. The secrete here is just knowing where to look for the aid.
More FAFSA Options
Other than the FSEOG grants, the FAFSA application also give students an opportunity to qualify for the Federal Pell Grants or sometimes known as the Foundation of Federal Student Financial Aid. . This type of aid is normally given to students from families with the greatest financial difficulties and is normally considered as the mother of all grants and awards in the US which are attached with federal underwriting.
Other available grants offered by the FAFSA organization can be found by visiting the organizations website.
Scholarships
There is also numerous scholarship programs offered by different NGOs, private companies, the federal and state governments and various schools and institutions as well. These cater for different types of students and as such, come with different eligibility criteria.
One such group of scholarships consists of the single mother scholarships. I find this to be a good one considering the fact that there are no age or background limitations to the scholarships when considering the federal government as the source of the same.
Student Loans
The federal government also provides student loans for those that qualify for the same. There are also other financial institutions that offer these loans, although with higher interest rates.
Other Sources
The sources of financial aids are many and one is only limited by there imaginations on where to find them. I use the internet in locating any prospective sources. In my search, I have even come across individual sponsors. What matters at the end of the day is that I complete my college education and attain my degree.
