Batteries are also known as electrochemical cells that produce electricity through self-generated chemical reaction. Most of us do know how does a battery work? If you understand this then you will never face an issue understanding the vital component of Chemistry and Biochemistry. To make things clear, you should know that batteries work due to redox reaction that is through oxidation/reduction reaction that involves the transfer of electrons. Electrons are nothing but small atomic parts that travel from one kind of chemical reaction to another one.
Most of the biochemical reactions like photosynthesis, respiration, phosphorilation, chemosynthesis depend on redox reactions. Electricity is the passage of electrons through a conductive path known as wire. This is also known as circuit. Basically battery consists of three parts, these are cathode (+), anode (-) and electrolyte. The positive and negative sides are on opposite ends of a traditional battery and are hooked on to an electrical circuit.
The chemical reactions in battery cause to build up electrons at the negative end. This gives rise to an electrical difference between cathode and anode due to which unstable electrons want to rearrange themselves and get rid of this reduction. They do this in certain format because the electrons repel and move to the direction where there are fewer electrons.
In this situation the only place to move is the positive end of a battery. But, due to electrolyte the electrons are forbidden from going straight which is from anode to cathode within the cell. When the circuit is completed the electrons are able to move from to the other end. The electrons move through the wire lighting the bulb all the way. This is one way in which how does a battery work.
Batteries come in different styles. The most common one is the single-time use alkaline batteries that we require in our day-to-day lives. NASA usually uses rechargeable nickel-hydrate or nickel-cadmium batteries that are found in cellular phones and laptops.
One can say that batteries act as storage space for electricity in a chemical form. They tend to expend their charge fast. For example the DS1 can last from half an hour to three hours that run on battery power before they can be recharged from solar panels.

Hi everyone! Let’s learn something about technology.
Technology is knowledge of using tools and machines to do tasks more efficiently. We use technology to control the world we live in. Since the art of making fire and creating handcrafted tools, our civilization has come a long way. Science and Technology are making advances at an astonishing rate. From telephones to the Internet, calculators to computers, cars to rockets and satellites, we are part of a new world of discoveries and inventions made possible by Science. Fields like Medicine and communications have changed our cultures and our lifestyles. The technology that surrounds almost everyone in the modern society, affects both work and recreational activities. Technology is one of the principal driving forces of the future; it is transforming our lives and shaping our future at incomparable rates in history. Technology is constantly changing, and advancing.
Many different elements affect how satisfied we are with our lives. The impact of technology on these elements can change how safe, healthy and happy people feel. Throughout history, people have looked for better ways to meet their needs and to satisfy their expectations. Technology has improved the way people feed, clothe and shelter themselves. Technology has also changed other aspects of everyday life, such as health care, education, job satisfaction, and leisure time activities. Technology has both positive & negative impact. All the above said are positive impacts. Negative impact of technology includes the Gun that takes away many lives.
The technology is considered having a positive or negative impact on the society is based on the way we handle it. So, let’s use it in a positive way.

Modern times have come with a revolution. We have all heard about the Telephones, as the basic necessity of day to day life. But now telephones have been revolutionized and developed such that mobiles have become the need of the hour. There are however tow sides to a coin, the positive side as id well know to us of the phones is that they have given communication a new meaning. While looking at the other side, the side that has become the reason for worry and today’s stress is the harmful side effects of mobile phones. The vibrations that they release are the most worrisome topic of the period. They not only give vibrations that are harmful they also cause various health problems like tumor and such like. The are many E-mails circulated these days that ask us to keep the mobile phones away from the bed where we rest as they release high frequency vibrations that can permanently impair the functioning of the brain. The latest headlines are that the phones that are charged via chargers are harmful when used while charging on electricity. They not only use up lots of power but also are susceptible to explosion. Many such accidents are mostly because the phones used are mostly not the original ones. The other disadvantage that I would like to throw light upon is, that the young generation is obsessed with it that they created a world for themselves inside it, and real humans living in and around them are long forgotten. Games and songs are the applications of a mobile phone, and not just communication.

The craze for high quality, restricted time frames, round-the-clock demand, pressure on reduced resource wastage and the break-neck pace of urbanization all demand one thing in common– Mechanization , and on a higher level, Automation. Human effort is far too precious a resource to be wasted in mundane manual activities. We have invented machines instead, that can completely take over all human activities to the extent of operating without any human intervention and making their own decisions! Automation has influenced all professions greatly. Harbors and industries faced the problem of lifting and transporting heavy loads amounting to tons. Mere human assistance could not solve this problem. The mindset of employees is also totally unpredictable with strikes, lockout and other HR problems. Hence a different method of automation using mass production cells and industrial robots has taken prominence. Though they are very sensitive and require great care, they are worth every penny spent on them as they have made the dream of “mass production in total control” to be a reality even from a remote location. Automation requires careful planning of resources and requirements as any miscalculation will diminish the returns that can be obtained in an ideal state. It is thus easy to foresee that Automation will come up in a big way in the future.

There has the been the development made in the telecommunication sector and one can say that one can be unaware of the 3G – which is the latest development of the same. There are also the wrong reasons for which it was famous, but rather we can have a look at the technological aspects and the features of the most expected 3rd generation band of the telecom. The third generation is the next update after the 2.5G which is not being currently used by most of the telecom operators in India for the mobile phones. There needs to be the upgrade that would need to be done and that is the 3G. The 3G has the amazing attributes like there is the high speed connectivity made with the mobile and a lot more features. The video call is considered to be the most used feature of the 3rd generation telecom band. With the top telecom operators already providing the demo versions of the same, there is the huge revenue expected with the full fledged implementation of the 3rd generation across the country. Also there are the plans to link the same with the corporate companies and make sure that there is the fruitful use of the same.

The day’s most helpful tool is the internet. People no matter how far need a computer or of course a laptop an internet connection and they can talk to anyone in the world. Many people are often traveling abroad and once they are gone there it is not easy to come back, but nowadays the distance is not a matter as they can not only talk but view each other. This is the world of internet, the entire world made small. This is the world bank of information, as they provide anything from any part of the universe. Let it be booking air travel or train travel there is a place for everything in here and everything is in its place. The most leading market of the world is also dependent on it. Yes I am referring to the stock market where there is money fast and easy. The dealings here can be done through the internet. The things around us are made so simple. There so many facets of the internet that it is difficult to list on a sheet of paper. However all that is good also has bad along with it somewhere along the lane. People have to realize the value of things and make a habit of conserving and utilizing them to their best. There are many applications that can go on for ages, but a wise and proper use of things is the need of the hour as there are many fraudulent cases which can also occur here. As the saying goes prevention is better than cure.

There has been the growth in the various fields that has been seen in the recent decade. The main one can be said as the communication sector. There is the usage of the mobile phones that has taken a great leap in the past couple of years. It is nowadays very rare to see people without the mobile phones. Initially there were only few mobile manufacturing companies, but one can say for sure that there are more than hundred mobile manufacturing companies present in the world. Also the quality of the devices that they produce is simply excellent and also one can get them at a very cheap price. There are also the advancements made by which one can be able to access the daily mails, log on to the messenger and then chat with people and many more functions. There are also the software that can be installed on the mobile and make them more flexible and more usable. The recent update is that the more advanced mobiles can be paired up with the computers and data transfer can be made. Other amazing technological developments include the presence of Bluetooth, infra red, camera and usage of the memory cards within the mobile phones.
